Thinking about when I worked at a shitty restaurant + one night it was just me + 3 other women on closing shift, so some guy came in the back and waved a knife around, presumably for money but I’m not actually certain, bc he was met with the bartender holding a much bigger knife, a tiny teenager wielding a cast iron pan, an elderly woman holding up a crockpot of clearly boiling water, and me, turning on the meat slicer with eye contact for maximum effect. He left, but the moral of the story is not girl power or whatever, it’s just. Why the fuck would you threaten a room full of underpaid and sleep-deprived blue-collar workers surrounded by lethal weapons.
Even ignoring the quantity of workers or weaponry, I think there’s something special about specifically
“‘Many have their own theories behind Bruce Wayne’s reclusive nature, with some suspecting that the billionaire is harbouring a dark secret,’” you read aloud. You’re flipping through a trashy magazine you picked up when you saw Bruce’s name on the cover. Your words echo throughout the Batcave as you lean back in an office chair you claimed as your own. You liked that it reclined.
Beside you, Bruce Wayne is seated in front of his multi-screened monitor, silently watching videos he recorded as Batman. In the beginning you would watch with him but eventually you realized it was all very similar and you got bored.
It was a complete accident that you found out his secret. You had been Bruce’s friend for years, always trying to bring a bit of fun and joy into the man’s otherwise gloomy life. You had been on your way to do just that, ready with a batch of cookies that he always says he doesn’t want but you know he secretly does. You knocked at the door and Dory let you in. You went wondering around the house and stumbled upon a hushed conversation between Bruce and Alfred in the office. Feeling nosy, you listened in:
“I don’t want to go,” you heard Bruce say. Alfred sighed.
You’re Eddie’s first serious girlfriend. Eddie mostly fucked around in the past, not in an heartless jock kind of way but a “the girl never wants anything serious” kind of way. You did. You wanted something beyond serious with Eddie. You never “fucked around” in the past. It’s not that you never had a chance, you had plenty, but you had trust issues & guarded your heart like a gold mine.
You used to be captain of the cheerleading squad, until you realized how superficial everyone on the team was, before you decided to tell off the coach and quit. It was a shame, You were the best. You were tough. At least that’s what people thought. But in the end, you were in every way fragile when it came to love. Trusting your heart in the hands of Eddie Munson was the right choice, that’s what you convinced yourself to believe until today.
“Meet me at our spot after school, Don’t be late ;)”
Eddie texted, before the last bell rung. You went to the girls bathroom to freshen up after a long day of highschool activities. Just to look pretty for him, you even styled your hair in the way that he likes, a ponytail.
After leaving the bathroom, you set your backpack in your car. There was no need for it anymore, and you didn’t have homework so that just meant more time with Eddie. What you did bring was a ziplock bag of nail polish, You and Eddie deserved a new color. The sound of your car locking echoed through the empty parking lot as you headed up the hill, towards the woods.
The hike wasn’t long, your spot wasn’t too far from school grounds, just far enough for people not to snoop around it. It was just an abandoned picnic table, and tall trees surrounding it. When you finally made it, you looked up to see not only your boyfriend, but the captain of the cheerleading squad, Chrissy Cunningham way too close to him.
They were smiling and giggling, and he moved a piece of hair behind her ear. Then putting something in her hand, she squeaked in satisfaction before wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him in tight.
Your heart dropped, and so did the bag of nail polish.
The clacking of the polish bottles clashing with the crunch of the fall leaves caused them to simultaneously look up at you. The sight of Eddie’s big eyes only brought tears to yours as you mummered “guess i’m late.” before running off back down the hike trail.
Eddie wasn’t athletic, but he was fast, and proved it by catching up to you within seconds, leaving chrissy and the echoes of him chanting your name behind. He was now in front of you, walking backwards on the trail.
“Baby please wait” he panicked.
“Wait for what?! For the hug to turn into a kiss?!”
“No I-”
“Yeah sorry i’ll keep a better grip on the polish next time” your sarcastic remark frustrated him.
“Y/N, Just let me explain,”
“Eddie, Move out of my way.”
“If he preferred cheerleaders, all he had to do was ask me to rejoin the team,” you thought, but didn’t have the strength to say. You moved around him and sped up when you saw your car in a short distance. But as mentioned, he’s fast. He got to your car door before you and blocked it.
You’ve been avoiding his eyes this whole time and he noticed.
“Y/N, Look at me.”
You stubbornly shook your head no, with your hands shaking, staring at his shoes.
“Y/N. Look. at me.”
You slowly stared up into his deep brown ovals, and that’s when your tears came running down, hard. The washed your cheeks away like a big wave crashing down on land. You hated it. You hated crying, ever. It made you so mad you balled your fists and hit him on the chest. The first hit made him stumble back a little, but the rest barely phased him. He took all of them, every single hit getting weaker than the one before while you mumbled frustrated comments you could barely make out. He wrapped his arms around you and brought you closer to his chest, muffling your cries. He shedded one tear, then proceeded to give you a list of commands while he had the chance.
“Listen to me baby. When you’re ready, i’m gonna open this door for you, just like i always do. You’re gonna get in the car and put your seatbelt on. I’m gonna tell you I love you, and you will drive the speed limit carefully all the way home. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you. I’m gonna give you some time alone while I handle some things, and then i’m gonna come see you.”
You shook your head no, sniffling like never before.
“Yes sweetheart, I will. I’m gonna explain everything. It’s your choice if you listen or believe me, but I don’t even have the heart to lie to you, better yet fucking cheat. You’re the best thing to ever happen to me. Okay?”
“Okay..” your words were still muffled.
“Are you ready?”
You nodded.
He released you, opened the door for you, and everything went as planned. His “I love you” ran through your head all the way home.
Time passed by, and it got dark & rainy outside. You had a fresh shower and put on a large T-shirt & panties. Your ponytail was now a little messy but you didn’t mind, sliding some socks on and laying in bed.
tap tap tap
Eddie knocked on your window, urging you to open it. He climbed in soaked, handing you a bouquet of flowers and setting a basket full of goodies, movies, and the nail polish bag, down next to your bed. He went back and got it for you. As soon as his hands were free you hugged him, tightly, you’ve been wanting to do so since you drove off. You knew he didn’t cheat, you just needed a clear mind first, and that’s exactly what the time alone gave you. Damn, his tactics are good.
He didn’t let go. He grabbed your thighs and lifted you up, holding you with ease. “Please don’t leave me. Please.. I’ll explain it all.” His voice was fragile.
“Shh.. You don’t have to explain anything. I believe you.” you silenced his worries, and he exhaled all the pain he was holding in.
He changed out of his drenched clothes into some clothes he left at your house previous nights. You guys watched a movie, ate the snacks, and eventually it was just you in his arms, and the ending credits playing.
summary: at Steve & Nancy’s early wedding, Eddie gets you a lucky batch of flowers ;)
warnings: FLUFFFYYY, teenage marriage maybe? s** joke maybe? enjoy!
Steve and Nancy were getting married, and you couldn’t be more happy for them. Most parents would never let their children get married so young, but Steve’s parents were mostly absent, and Mrs.Wheeler couldn’t be happier that Nancy found true love in this dreadful town.
“We request the honor of your presence at the celebration of Steve Harrington & Nancy Wheeler’s marriage!”
The invitation read, bringing a smile to your face. Today was the day, and as her best friends, You and Robin were her bridesmaids. You glanced in the mirror, with the dress hugging you in all the right areas, your hair shined in the light, the light which you turned off before heading out of your room.
After a few compliments from your parents, you were well on your way to the Steve’s house. You had only been there once for a small pool party, and from what you saw the backyard was more than big enough to decorate for a wedding.
You rung the doorbell, already hearing some loud bickering from Dustin, which made you giggle a bit. Eddie opened the door, then stood there in utter shock.
“Can i come in?” you slowly asked, amused by his face.
“Yeah.. yeah you can come.. IN! YOU CAN COME IN- is what i meant!” Eddie stuttered before swiftly moving to the side.
“Thank you sir.” You laughed.
You started to walk up the stairs, which was off limits for the guys since Nancy was getting ready up there, but you stopped midway to look at Eddie, who you knew was still watching you.
“Munson.”
“My lady?”
“You look really handsome in that tux, baby.”
He couldn’t even make out a thank you. He flustered you in the same ways you flustered him. Two switches in a relationship are a match made in heaven.
“Oh my god, Im gonna cry- You look perfect!!” You exclaimed, giving Nancy a warm hug. You, Robin, Mrs.Wheeler, and of course Nancy were all ready. You assumed all the guys downstairs were ready too. It was time.
You had the time of your life. You dropped a flower trail with Robin down the aisle, Boogied your way through the dancefloor with Lucas, Got some wedding cake icing on Eddie’s nose, & Put your toes in the pool water with Nancy to talk about falling in love.
“May i pull her from you for a second, Mrs.Harrington?”his voice warmed you from behind. Nancy nodded, and Eddie helped you from the pool, pulling you aside.
“I didn’t get to tell you how perfect you look.”
You awed. “Barefoot on the grass, with icing in my hair, and Eleven’s wedding stickers all over me?”
“My pretty girl..”
He knew what that line did to you. His eyes practically drew you in for a kiss before Dustin interrupted with two cups of rice in his hands.
“Alright lovebirds cut it out, it’s time to bless the bride and groom before they leave.” Dustin explained handing us our cups.
Scattered throughout the front lawn, we threw rice at Nancy and Steve as they smiled, heading towards their shiny red wedding-getaway car parked on the side of the street.
“Thank you guys for coming.” Steve smiled opening the car door for Nancy. She stepped one foot in before saying “Oops! Almost forgot.” Without even looking at us, she threw the bouquet behind her.
Eddie fixed his bowtie, and caught it with one hand, confidence oozing from all the catch he used to play with his uncle as a kid.
He examined the flowers, pulled one out the bouquet, and placed it behind your ear. You could hear the different awes from your peirs, beginning the swelling of some tears. He leaned down and kissed your hand, before placing the bouquet in the same hand, standing up straight again to look in your eyes.
“You know what this means, right sweetheart?.”
“Damn right.” you smiled.
He kissed you as the roar of their engine started. Holding you tight, you both waved goodbye to the new beweds.
You slept good that night, with the bouquet in a vase on your nightstand next to a photo of you and eddie, knowing you two were next.
